Executive Coaching and Mentoring.

David holds an ILM Level 7 Diploma in Executive Coaching and he is a member of  the Association for Coaching. Much of David’s coaching has been working with educational professionals, but he has also worked with lawyers, self-employed, armed forces personnel and HR professionals.

Coaching facilitates personal development and helps you to steer through many of the challenges that life throws at us. These could include:

  • Realising your potential
  • Achieving your ambitions
  • Decision making
  • Juggling priorities and making the best use of your time
  • Acting as a sounding board for new ideas
  • Developing personal qualities or skills – e.g. growing your resilience or confidence
  • Coping with stress
  • Preventing burn-out
  • Becoming more emotionally intelligent when dealing with others e.g. when in conflict
  • Providing support in specific work situations
  • Helping you develop as a leader/manager and achieve your potential
  • Providing a confidential ‘ear’ for you to discuss any worries
  • Managing change
  • Balance of work and pleasure

And more….

David’s approach is relaxed, but he is prepared to challenge assumptions and query actions when necessary. He uses a range of coaching tools, insights from cognitive behavioural approaches and his questioning is thought-provoking. David believes that the client should work with him to seek their own solutions and paths. His work is influenced by  the philosophies of solution-focussed coaching and positive psychology. Solution-focussed coaching assists the client to define their desired future and to construct a pathway to that future. Positive psychology is a scientifically-rooted approach to coaching that aims to help clients increase their well-being, improve and apply strengths, enhance performance and achieve their goals.
